Buying Your Home

You're thinking about buying a home in Winnipeg, but you don't know where to start.  That's ok -- you're in good company.  It's my job to make you're life easier and more comfortable.

Where to Live?

The biggest challenge is understanding where you want to live.  First, I'll send you a package on Winnipeg, and then we'll do a phone interview so I can better understand your needs.  I'll ask questions like:

How much do you want to spend?

Do you want a new home or older, character home?
Would you like a neighborhood with old trees, or do you care?
Do you have a family?
Where will you be working?
What recreational activities do you like?  Do you want a neighborhood suited for walking or bike riding?
Try my Virtual Tour!  I've written a summary of the different areas in the city.  Reading it will give you an idea of where you might want to live.

Time is at a Premium

I understand that time is at a premium -- normally just days or hours are available to get a feeling for the city and to choose a house you'd like to buy.  Based on the answers you've given me, I'll set up a tour of the city.  Living here for 50 years has given me a pretty good idea of what you'll need to know to make your decision.  The tour will include lunch stops and dinner stops, both so you can get a feeling for the restaurants and to provide some time to think and regroup.  It's common that on the first day of tour you'll have your heart set on a short list of houses.

The Short List

A second visit to the short list of houses helps you narrow down the list further.  Once you've decided, I'll take you through the offer process.  We can complete it over the phone with fax machines -- you don't need to be in the city.  It's my job to take care of it as your buyer's agent.

Technology makes it easier to make last minute changes to the plan.  New appointments can be made, and new houses found on the Winnipeg online system.  If the house is out there, we'll find it.

River property is my specialty, but I sell homes all over the city.  I'm comfortable dealing with executive price ranges -- a number of my out-of-town buyers have purchased houses starting at $250,000.

Give me a Call
